Recently i have found amazing example of copywriting at war. Vietnamese propagandists distribute this leaflets among american soldiers during 1955-1973 war. Let's analyze how they persuade.
Firstly they use statistics to scare soldiers. There was really high possibility to die in foreign country.
Western media helped NLF also - they draw dark perspectives of the war for the US. Vietnamese used cites out of Wall Street Journal.
Americans were not motivated. Why do they fight? No answer. So isn't this good idea to come back home?
Sometimes vietnamese propagandists tried to use emotions in their leaflets, for example congratulating soldiers with christmas.
Targeting posts to a different ethnical groups leads contradictions between soldiers.
